Fabric Mart Fabricistas

Hi Fabricista's I am back with my newly fini shed wrap dress and newly groomed doggie Buster.  He was in on the picture action again and it's always fun to ask his opi nion on my recent make.  He is a Tim Gunn fanatic and fan cy's himself a bit of a fashion a fi cianado- that is when he's not chasing squirrels or barking at passerby's.  I own se veral Palmer/Pletsch book s on fit and they are a great refe rence to have on hand for garment sewing.  I have alwa ys wanted to try the Palmer/Plet sch fit method from start to finish and w ith this kit I was finally able to do just that.  I began by watching the fit-along videos by Julie and Melissa Wat son.  For a sewing person who loves to see how others w ork out their fit issues- it was exciting.  If you haven't watched the series follow this link.   I watched them in bits and pieces over the course of a week and there were so many helpful hints.   You can see...

[The Romper was made for and modeled by my daughter Mori] I picked out this cool textured  Red Jacquard fabric  in the hopes of making a suit.....well you know how it goes, I let time get by me and now I needed to make something else, quick fast and in a hurry. So I looked through my latest pattern purchase and found this dress that I had on my to-do list. Cynthia Rowley Simplicity 8124 Pattern. Now the problem was this fabric, I was a little concerned as to how it would lay, it's a little more structured than I think is needed for this pattern, still I pushed forward. I decided to make the romper this time around. Let me take a minute and say honestly this is the easiest romper I have ever made. It can actually be done in under an hour, seriously.
