Sometimes you have an idea of what you want to do, and you think it's all going well. And then it fails. And then you panic. And then you're staring at your calendar telling yourself that you have time but really don't because your brain still hasn't adjusted to the fact that you are, indeed, working a full-time job and have an active social life again.

*cue dramatic music and panic*

But let's be real, when does anything ever go according to plan? Between life, relationships, jobs, is anything what we really expected it to be once we get going? Why should this dress be any different?

The upside, which I don't think I said in the video, is that I know exactly what went wrong and how to fix it. So good thing my pattern decided to yeet itself into the void by refusing to auto-save right?

Right?

Okay but let's be real. This also allowed me to make samples for two patterns that I have been fussing with for months. AND they actually worked. It was almost like taking time off of ✨literally everything✨ allowed my brain time to piece things together. Like a complex patterning system I'm teaching myself in an effort to build a small empire of book-inspired patterns...

Or something like that.

Regardless as always, Fabric Mart inspired me to make something that I am beyond excited to add to my everyday wardrobe. And has really proven to me that summer-weight hoodies are a thing, and I need more of them.

So enjoy this mess of ADHD chaos because I know I did. And next time I see you all I should be back on my meds, so maybe we'll won't put it off to the week before and panic in front of the whiteboard.

Hello sewing friends! I’m here on the blog today sharing a pattern hack I recently did to boost my wardrobe with a few pieces to wear during my recovery from surgery…and I’m also sharing a tip for those pesky rounded hems. So let’s jump in! I recently had surgery on my neck due to issues with my parathyroid glands. All went to plan and I’m doing well, but I have to admit, the scar was a bit larger and more prominent than I expected. I definitely want to cover it up a bit during the healing process, and I realized that I own very few tops that cover that area of my neck. I don’t really love wearing high neck tops, so I came up with the idea to sew a top that I could convert back to my preferred style once I recover.
