Made by a Fabricista: Range Backpack

Hi there sewing friends! This post is an exciting one for me because it marks my return to sewing! Ha! My sewing machine has been packed up and stored away in the corner of my bedroom since the beginning of July!

Made by a Fabricista: Charlie Caftan

It's official, I love Closet Case Patterns ! Eventually I believe I will make all of them! I've already made the Clare Coat , Fiona Sundress and Amy Jumpsuit . I also have the Ginger Skinny Jeans , Sasha Trousers and Kalle Shirtdress in my pattern collection, but my latest make is this mini length Charlie Caftan . It was difficult to decide which view to make. I like the architectural look of View A and knew Fabric Mart's  designer quality linen  would provide the perfect structure. On the other hand Fabric Mart typically stocks a lovely assortment of challis and it is one of my favorite fabrics. Ultimately I decided that flow-y would beat out structured ( this time ). Despite the fact that fall is approaching I decided on the shorter version ( but added the ties ) and will just wear the heck out of it for the next several weeks.

Made By A Fabricista: All Dressed up for Hurricane Flo!

Hi Beauties! I hope that you are doing well and that you stayed dry in case you were in the path of hurricane Flo! I am in Charlotte (North Carolina). We got a good amount of rain, although my neighborhood was not impacted very much. My rose bushes were destroyed but we were lucky to not get any serious damage! I spent the weekend sewing with a beautiful black ITY knit and made two black tops for fall. The 1st one is my favorite as it has this gorgeous tie back detail on the neckline!

Made by a Fabricista: Jumping into Fall!

Happy Saturday Loves! Even though I live in the " Sunshine State " and it feels more like Summer most of the year, I do pla n to create and add a few Fall pieces to my wardrobe collection.  Before the end of the year, my goal is to challenge myself and create a few sweater tops and a coat.

Made by a Fabricista: Deer and Doe Nenuphar Jacket + Burda 6849 tiny floral print shirt!

Hi everybody, it's Virginie from Jazz Couture and I'm happy to share with you my 2 first fall makes! Deer and Doe Nenuphar Jacket The Nenuphar Jacket So for my first make I chose the Nenuphar pattern by Deer and Doe ! It is a light jacket that is perfect as a transitional, layering piece, and you could wear it with a jeans and t-shirt combo as I did, or over a straight dress or a pencil skirt. I made view A, which features 3/4 sleeves, front band and patch pockets with cutout details, and a two-piece back with a gathered bottom.

Made by a Fabricista: Starting off fall with RED!

Lets talk about this fabric...it's peachskin...peachskin is made from a polyester but has a soft, suede-like surface.  It doesn't have a nap and washes and dries beautifully.  Every peachskin I have used has been opaque and I don't need extra undergarments (slip).  BONUS!   For my September post, I knew I wanted a maxi that I would be able to wear in the early fall and possibly winter if I wore it with a sweater or jacket.  The colors in this fabric are so rich and screamed fall to me!    This was on the website and is a designer dress fabric, but it's gone...probably since it's so lovely!

Made by a Fabricista: Silk Cotton Voile Perkins Shirt

Hey there, Fabricistas! It's Meg from Cookin' and Craftin' . When you decide on a sewing project, do you choose the fabric first, or the pattern? My process varies, but in this case, the gorgeous fabric came first, then I pondered patterns that would highlight the fabric best.

Made by a Fabricista: ITY Knit Ebony Raglan Dress.

I may be less active on the internet than I used to, and far more active as a school teacher than I ever thought I would be, but I still find time to at least visit my favorite places in cyberspace at least once a day.  And of course sewing blogs and sites are right up there.  Since I don't live under a rock, I have at least peered at one of the cutest "made by me" dresses that made the rounds in overabundance the last year, the Ebony Dress by Closet Case Files .  It is adorable in all of its iterations. :-)
