Hey lovely folks!  Nice to see ya again, and I'm so excited we are finally to my favorite season of the year:  FALL!     This Autumn has been a bit different with the COVID factor, but we were still able to make it to our favorite orchard for some apple picking in our fabulous Misusu Dia sweatshirts (and Jalie 2918, more on that in a bit!) The black fabric is a super luscious modal blend sweatshirting that has unfortunately sold out (check out some other great options here ).  The way it looks on the backside and with it's drape it's almost more of a very brushed french terry than a sweatshirting in my mind, but it's still dang awesome. Along with many people it seems, I've picked up roller skating during this time of social distancing and staying at home. A girl can never have to many hobbies, right? Like many other 80s babies I spent a ton of time at the rink as a kid and had some roller blades in the 90s. I even worked for a little while as a Sonic carhop and skated orders out to customers. During college I borrowed a friends rollerblades and bladed around campus. I always really loved skating so when the gyms were closed and I wanted an activity that would get me moving and outdoors I figured why not skate? It's so much more fun that just walking and I HATE running. Well the next step was definitely to blend my two hobbies and since controlling a foot pedal in skates doesn't seem practical, skating in me made outfits was the obvious way to go.   Hello everyone!  The last time I posted about some things I sewed for my daughter, Serena, she was in Chicago in 2017, and I had made her a black and white mini-wardrobe here .  Fast forward 3 years, and she is climbing the corporate ladder and just got promoted to a position where she would need to present frequently to a board of directors.  So, the challenge was making something appropriate to wear to the board meetings, also something that would pack in a suitcase well, and something that would be not so dressy so she would still be able to wear it to work on a non-board meeting day.  Her workplace is generally ultra casual, which is the trend in most businesses, as I hear.  I wish it were more dressy, as I love making suit jackets!   Happy Saturday LOVES! I am finally feeling less overwhelmed and adjusting to this distance teaching.  I am back in full swing for the new 2020-2021 academic school year and even though we encountered challenges the first week, I am happy to have survived the first 3 weeks.  As we plan to transition to brick and mortar (in person) in a few weeks, I am praying that our students and teachers remain safe. 2020 year has allowed  me to learn, reflect, grow and overcome many fears and challenges and be open to change.
