Made by a Fabricista: Wrap Battle

This month I said I was going to do an “easy” sew so I was pretty settled on a knit project. Thankfully Fabric Mart always has a great selection of knits . So much so that when it was time to select my fabric for this month’s post I could only narrow it down to these four ITYs. Four prints means four makes ( so much for easy ) and I thought why not make four different patterns of one style and compare them! Since ITY is perfect for dresses you just throw on I originally thought maxi dresses, but then the light bulb went off...WRAP dresses. It's a WRAP BATTLE!

Made by a Fabricista: One Pattern, THREE different VIEWS!

Happy Saturday! I am so excited to share my July make along with two other amazing sew sisters that I met via social media. After winning last year's Fabric Mart challenge, I have connected with so many awesome ladies in the sewing community!    Honestly, over the last ten months, I have learned so much from my sewing community of friends who have always shown much love and support.  I am grateful for this platform and opportunity with Fabric Mart, where I am able to share my monthly makes and be committed to a hobby that I truly enjoy. Carla (middle) and Johanna (right) are two amazing ladies that I can always count on for sewing advice.

Made By a Fabricista: White Lace Skirt for Summer

Hi Fashionistas! I hope you had a lovely 4th of July Holiday and sewed and celebrated! My latest sewing project for the month of July is this beautiful white lace skirt that I made by combining a white cotton corduroy with a white lace fabric overlay.

Made by a Fabricista: Bright Pink!

Summer arrived full-force in South Dakota and when I think of hot weather, I automatically go to linen.  With this bright pink linen, I knew it would be a great dress.  Fabric Mart has such an awesome linen collection.  Have you checked it out?  You can do that here:  Designer Quality Linen There are so many wonderful colors to choose from! I simply LOVE this stuff!  It washes and dries beautifully and it's made from completely natural fibers, so it sews and presses like a dream.  Need I say more??? Before I cut into my fabrics for this monthly post, I try and do some research.  For this month, I looked for summer dresses with easy silhouettes and fun sleeves.  This is the dress I came up with. I really love those sleeves and I had read from several reviewers that the sleeves were fully lined and clever.  Sold!

Which means if you post every day, you'll have  twenty-one  chances to win! For fairness we are only accepting one photo per day. So don't do three days at a time, or you're entries  won't  count! And you can participate just one day, or all twenty-one! Missed a day?  No problem!  Don't know what to post for another day's prompt?  Skip it!  The whole goal is to have  fun  & to get to know each other! The Where:  On your very own Instagram page! Make sure that your page is public & that you use the hashtag #FABRICMARTPHO

Made by a Fabricista: Marfy 6194 dresses in black and red linen!

Marfy 6194 in black designer linen Hi everybody, it's Virginie from Jazz Couture. Does it sometimes happen to you that you're inexplicably drawn to a particular pattern? Well, that's just what happened to me when I looked at the Marfy summer collection on Vogue's website. Marfy 6194 is the one dress pattern I kept looking at repeatedly, so I took the plunge and ordered it!

Made by Fabricista: Floral Scuba Knit Jalie Adele Dress

Hi, all!  I hope your summer has been good so far, and that if you are sweltering in the heat (most of us, right?), that you are cooling off somewhere! I decided that for July I would make a fun frock that could go with me multiple places.  I wanted it to be loose enough to be comfortable, but not so unfitted that it was unflattering, and I desired a piece that was unique in construction as I really enjoy the sweet details that sewing your own clothing can afford you.

Made By A Fabricista: Double Knit Concord T-shirt Dress

Seasonally inappropriate sewing alert! I've got a long sleeved  double knit  t-shirt dress for you on this hot, hot midsummer day... I was absolutely melting when taking these photos (hence the sunglasses and wet hair!) but I am in love with my new dress!
