Made by a Fabricista: Mama and Me Voile

Hello my fabric loving friends!  I can't even believe it's almost August...where has this Summer gone? Today I bring you some Mama and Me goodness, sewn up from some delicious cotton voile.  Nothing says Summer dressing comfort quite like voile, right?  This particular print has sold out, but I'd mostly definitely have chosen this voile in its stead.

Made by a Fabricista: Summer Separates Mini-Collection

Linen is a go to fabric for me, especially in these sweltering summer months, and gingham is one of my favorite patterns so when I saw this navy gingham linen I got excited (Sorry, this one has sold out!). I decided to make separates for once so I also grabbed this solid navy linen  (Still in stock!). Originally I was thinking about a top and some wide leg pants, but then switched to Mimi's summer release - Simplicity 8927. Since all the views requires 2 yards or less I figured why not squeeze out a couple of more pieces for a collection. Top Left: NL6560 | Top Right: S8927 Bottom Left: M6965 | Bottom Right: S8927

Made by a Fabricista: Swimsuits

Happy summer! This is my absolutely favorite season of the year! I love the unscheduled, unplanned downtime that goes hand and hand with summer. I love the extra hours of fun I get to spend with the family! And I love the beach! Last week our family went to Marco Island, Florida and I was so excited to make a handful of swimsuits for my daughter and myself! I used the Megan Nielsen Cottesloe pattern to mix and match a whole new swimsuit wardrobe!

Made by a Fabricista: Classic Ponte Knit Pieces!

Happy Saturday All! I am so over this heat here in South Florida!  The humidity and the high temperature feels like 100+ degrees each day.  I can't wait for Fall so that I can truly enjoy the cooler temperatures. Whenever Fabric Mart has designer ponte knit fabric in stock and on sale, I grab as many yards as I am allowed to.  I absolutely love sewing with ponte knit versus other knits as the stability and structure are perfect for my personal taste (See my previous Fabric Mart post using ponte knit  here and here ).

Made by a Fabricista: Playing With Border Prints

If you've searched through FM's gorgeous selections like I have, you'll notice so many fun border prints.  I love border prints.  The can make a simple dress/top look so boutique like.

Made by a Fabricista: The Night and Day Dresses!

My black dress, made with some Milly floral taffeta Hi everybody, I just love wearing dresses during summertime! For this month's post I was supposed to post only one project, but finally decided to play with two gorgeous fabrics Fabric Mart has currently in stock. Here am I with 2 looks created from the same pattern: one dress for night time and one dress for daytime!

Made by a Fabricista: Diana Tank Swimsuit and a Milly Floral Swim Fabric!

I am always excited for summer.  It is definitely my favorite season.  I am done teaching, I can relax in the day at the pool with my kids and friends, I can swim as many laps as I want, and I can enjoy wearing bright colors and less clothing than I have to in the winter.  I typically make sundresses in the summer, but this summer I wanted to challenge myself to another swimsuit make.  When I saw this gorgeous Milly swimsuit fabric for sale at Fabric Mart, I knew I had a plan (sold out, but this Milly swim fabric is gorgeous, too).  Pairing this fabric with the Diana Tank Swimsuit by Jalie was also a no brainer.
