Sixth Challenge Announced!

Fabric of OUR Choice
Surprise!
A box of beautiful fabric just showed up at your door and you need to make something to wear this weekend! For this challenge, we are going to send each designer material for the next challenge.
But they do not know what they will be getting!
Unlike the Bundle Challenge, the designers will be working with the same fabric.

5 Seamstresses will compete in this challenge.
You will have one week to complete this challenge.
Challenge: Using the fabric we have selected for you, challenge yourself by making a unique garment and working with a material you may not have used before to create one well-made garment. You can use a pattern of you choice to construct your garment.
You will be judged on creativity, functionality, craftsmanship, and fit.
The winner will receive (3) Patterns on YOUR Choice from fabricmartfabrics.com

  3. Hi Sylvia,

This challenge is only open to the last few contestants that were selected to be in the challenge. It is not an open challenge. Although doing an open challenge someday sound like an interesting idea...will have to give that some thought!

DIY Tutorial: Infinity Scarves

Have a person on your gift list, but have no idea what to get for them? Making a gift is the perfect idea and it will be even more thoughtful than a silly little gift they don't really want anyway.

Made by a Fabricista: Classic Ponte Knit Pieces!

Happy Saturday All!
I am so over this heat here in South Florida!  The humidity and the high temperature feels like 100+ degrees each day.  I can't wait for Fall so that I can truly enjoy the cooler temperatures.
Whenever Fabric Mart has designer ponte knit fabric in stock and on sale, I grab as many yards as I am allowed to.  I absolutely love sewing with ponte knit versus other knits as the stability and structure are perfect for my personal taste (See my previous Fabric Mart post using ponte knit here and here).
