Reader's Pick Sew Along - Vote for the Pattern!

Thank you to those who submitted ideas on patterns you would like to see in a sew-along! I have selected 6 patterns, most all your selection. If you did not give me a specific pattern, but an idea such as a blazer, I selected a pattern. I loved all of the independent pattern company selections you chose, but some of them already have sew-alongs for them either done by the designer or by others. I also decided to stick with patterns that are easy to find for most and ones that have not been used by too many others in a sew-along. 

 Now it is your chance to vote for the pattern you want to see in a sew-along. You will have until Friday, March 21st to select the pattern you would like to see in a sew-along.

    I say 6097 because I attempted it once and I screwed something up at the back waist (thank goodness it was a muslin)...would love to try it again with some of the gorgeous knits I have purchased from you all recently. :)

    I voted for #1 because I tried sewing pants with a pattern from the book Sew U a couple years ago, but I had problems with the fly and waistband.

    Such great choices ! My vote goes to New Look 6097 because a quick google search showed me that feedback was good, but most importantly it looks incredibly flattering on all people that sewed it. My second vote goes to the knit blazer!

We had a lovely, warm September in central New Jersey but as of last week, fall has finally started to set in. While I’m no longer operating on a school calendar, I always look forward to the return of fall, the crisp air, the colorful leaves, and the opportunity to “turn over a new leaf.” While exploring the Fabric Mart website, browsing all their gorgeous cottons, I was incredibly inspired by the Eggshell/Black 100% Cotton Horizontal Stripe Weave Lawn . It looks exactly like a lined piece of paper. I thought it would make a fun top for work during this transitional season, one that sparks “blank page” creativity. I wanted to pair the top with a simple yet classic pair of pants, allowing each piece to be a quality addition to my work and loungewear wardrobe, working together and as separates. Made By A Fabricista: I Sewed a Chic Matching Set with Fabric Mart Knit Fabric

There’s nothing I love more than sewing a project that is both stylish and comfortable—and this one checks all the boxes! For this make, I paired two Pattern Emporium designs with a gorgeous designer knit fabric from Fabric Mart, and the result is a matching tank and wide-leg pant set that’s as easy to wear as it is to sew.   The Fabric Fabric Mart always has hidden gems, and this designer knit caught my eye right away.  It’s the Urban Taupe/Gold/Black Polyester/Lycra MK Chain Print ITY Knit - NY Designer - 56W.  The weight, stretch, and drape made it perfect for both a fitted top and a flowy pant. It’s soft against the skin, has great recovery, and presses beautifully. When working with knits, having a fabric that behaves well makes all the difference.
